Kev Gray And The Gravy Train’s Soulful Warning

  • by
kev gray and the gravy train

Kev Gray and The Gravy Train are an international band formed by a collective of musicians who came together online when COVID shut down live music across the globe. The band’s namesake and leader is an English musician who splits his time between the US, Japan and the UK.

Regular readers of The Static Dive will remember Kev Gray and the Gravy Train from tracks like “Time to Live Again“, “Winter is Coming” and the pandemic romance “2020 Love Song.” Over the past two years, the globe-trotting song man and his crew of internet collaborators have released a half dozen original nuggets, born out of the strange reality of the century’s second decade.

“Wait For The Thunder” is the brand new single from Kev Gray and the Gravy Train, released worldwide via all major streaming services on July 14, 2022. As the track opens, a slick blue guitar meets a smooth jazz ensemble. Together they lay down a chilled mid-tempo soul/pop groove. Kev Gray steps to the mic. Between blues licks and sax runs he delivers a soulful and cautionary allegorical warning to those prone to love at first sight.

"First track recordings date back to 2011, which were complemented during the course of 2021-22.  A truly timeless piece of music."
