Min the Universe is an international composer, DJ and EDM producer currently based in Brooklyn, New York. Regular readers of The Static Dive will remember his name from tracks like ‘Westworld Reanimated,’ ‘Instant Decays,’ ‘A Million Fireflies‘ and ‘Cassini.’ Since his solo professional recording debut last year, the eclectic artist has explored all corners of electronic music from cinematic scores to Synthmetal.
“Cryogenic Reflections” is the latest single from Min the Universe, released worldwide to all major streaming services on December 3, 2021. Ambient synths and a soft melody introduce the track. Soon the beat drops on a chill mid-tempo Progressive House beat. Percussive arpeggios and a hypnotic vocal sample create a dreamy yet kinetic vibe. From there Min takes us on a 7:35 epic journey through time, space and our own minds.
As the beat evolves, a female vocalist sings a lonely and sporadic monologue. Adding to the mystery of the track, the singer delivers cryptic lines like, “The sun sets on my life.” The tune mellows in the bridge and in typical Min the Universe genre-bending style he introduces rhythmic muted guitar chords and a great analog synth for a little Prog Rock Sci-fi energy. By the 6:00 mark the song slides back into a smooth Techno/Deep House groove.
